✧ our muses having dinner together
When it came round to the event, Julian found he was incapable of remembering who came up with the idea. He found it unlikely it was him, but there was no way to be sure - he’d, in some way opened up to Grace far more than he had to anyone in… years. That made it a perfectly plausible option that he’d suggested it… Nevertheless, the doctor pushed the concerns from his mind and glanced up to meet the blonde woman’s gaze.
He smiled warmly; she had an air about her that pulled such a reaction from him often. It was a pleasant aura to be around, in perfect contrast to his own. Slowly, Jules allowed his gaze to wander around once more, taking in the exquisite decor of the place. It was right up Grace’s street, he concluded - something that was inherently a positive. He’d learned to adapt with her, which lead to him finding pleasantries and things he enjoyed that he would have never known about without her presence, for that, he was grateful. “I… Don’t think I’ve ever been in here before.” He released a quiet breath. “It’s beautiful.”
In his peripheral vision a waiter appeared, approaching them to explain that their table was ready and he was there to lead them to it. Before moving, Julian placed a hesitant hand in the small of her back and leaned in to press a light, appreciative kiss to Grace’s forehead. “Thank you.” He would pay; that was set in stone. He owed her that, at least.
