Text: Hey y'all, I know we have short memories but maybe just do a cursory Google search before using that new face app #Gradient. It's shady as hell. The information in this thread took me 10 minutes to round up.
The app was released by a company called Ticket To The Moon, INC which has released precisely zero other apps. #Gradientapp was released six days ago. That's their whole library. https://appagg.com/developer/ticket-to-the-moon-inc/
If you read their privacy policy, it gives an address in Delaware as the home office. https://gradient.photo/privacy_policy.pdf
If you Google the home office address, it belongs to a private equity company called Meihua Capital Parnters LLC https://www.meihuacapitalpartners.com/about-us
They are a Chinese company. Now I'm not saying China is harvesting your photos and information. I'm just saying they've already tried it and we're not getting any smarter about it.
According to LinkedIn, Meihua has only existed since 2017 and, despite its corporate office being in Delaware, the only listed employee lives in Arkansas. I don't have any insider information or skills. This is just Google. Just saying.
