Never thought I'd ever get to do an art trade-I don't even draw! But nevertheless, I have @grafxkid's Hana here as a Miitopia mii! The access key is 691NWTG. On his end, he did vector art of my oc Naranja!
Re-made my Today Land prototype in Game Maker.
This is pretty much as far as I’m willing to take it for now since I don’t have permission to use the assets.
Hopefully I’ll get around to making/using some others to replace them.
I really like this sort of platform/point and click hybrid so I definitely plan on using this system.
As usual, check out @grafxkid ‘s stuff.
p.s Just noticed the damn hills don’t loop properly :(
p.p.s And despite me telling GMS to use the actual time(top right) it still removes the 0 in 11:05 :S
It's @grafxkid's birthday, and I've been wanting to draw fan art for him and his work for a while so it was the perfect opportunity to draw his character Momoko! Happy birthday Jason! I love your Today Land series and your pixel art, I think they're fantastic, and I hope you have an awesome day!
Changed the chat font to the official Today Land one (Name font is still wrong), and fixed the spacing issue between letters. I Must remember to double space between words.
Also, here’s how the animation flow works. It probably could still do with some work, but it should be pretty easy to use.
Seems my Cutscene system works! Please forgive the terrible writing, I just needed something to test it all out. (also the framerate I’m trying a new method of recording)

I was trying to make something that could be used for cutscenes, here are two sprites moving randomly (Since I didn’t want to spend time giving them individual unique orders)
Line1 ;Current Action, direction, Time performing
Line2; Current Action, direction, Total Time
Line3; Next Action, direction, Total Time
Current Possible Actions are; Idle, Walk, Jump, Turn. Camera (follow) Amazingly it’s mostly just the pre-existing movement code with the keypresses swapped out for Actor values provided by a randomly generated List of Actions.

A mock up of a mock up! I was procrastinating trying not to design levels for my platformer and threw this together, if it goes down well I might make the other scenes too. (the text boxes and movement will obviously carry over since that works been done, clicking interface will need a slight addition. Healthbar works, inventory window/portrait/text window can all be swapped out for other characters) It’s a shame Stencyl seems to have issues with some font when displayed really small, or I could have used the ones from the source images.
