Daily Wizards Day 142
The Grand Master Wizard from Adventure Time
The host of the Wizard Battle and ruler of the very Wizard City, he is very set in his ways that wizards are superior to the point of banning anything that is NOT magic during the battle, and those who refuse end up in jail or as a cat.
The GMW set up a barrier around the arena as to keep the fighters from escaping. He is also the one who transforms the violators into cats, along with being able to spit up cats when startled, possibly connected to the transforming.
Despite many things, ice king is a respected member of the wizard community.
That seems to be the case now, before we just thought the Wizard trio and Huntress Wizard didn’t like him, therefore a lot of fans (myself included) concluded most of the wizards hated Ice King.
Mostly because Huntress told Ice Kong “do you want to get killed, Ice King?” in regards to Ice King rebelling against Wizard standard politics. It seemed like a snide remark or a genuine threat from her (HW was playing with her arrow when she made the comment) But maybe it was a bitter warning “ugh this idiot is going to get himself killed ” kind of thing, considering that later in season 5.1 “Wizards only, fools” the Wizard society is shown as very strict, and the punishments for certain crimes and violations led to death, imprisonment and other very nasty things. When Ice King flirted with Huntress Wizard, instead of shooting an arrow at his mug, Huntress Wizard simply left the scene. I guess this can disprove she threatened violence and that she might have actually warned him.
Then the Wizard Trio, originally they didn’t want Ice King to join their secret club, we didn’t understand why but I guess most fans either thought they were elitists or they just didn’t want Ice King to join because he’s considered dumb and destructive. Buffo stated “nothing personal” before they attacked Ice King, so it can be assumed they don’t despise him.
The trio seemed more antagonistic to Ice King in “Betty” but that’s probably because Ice King was snooping and because the ritual the trio was doing is illegal, I assume it’s illegal because Grand Master Wizard showed up with the cops. Not to mention Ice King just shows up and be all “hey guys, can I have some of that magic power boost you have.” that just pissed the trio more, I believe.
My personal conclusion of why the Trio rejected Ice King’s attempts to join the club, is because these guys are best friends and share a lot of history together, and Ice King just wants to butt in as the awkward nerd he is.
As seen in “Betty”, Grand Master Wizard said “sorry Ice King” when Simon was stripped the magic off him, and by the end of the episode, Ice King is back and walking around cluelessly and Grand Master Wizard just holds him for a hug.
That was adorable, and interesting, Grand Master Wizard scolded Dan in “Wizards only Fools” in a rather fatherly way “I’m very disappointed in you Abracadaniel.” and in his next appearance he is worried about Ice King and by the end he hugs him.I guess maybe GMW treats a lot of wizards as if they were his children, similarly to PB and her people. If this idea has any truth, Ice King is the adopted baby, and that’d heartwarming.
Then in the same episode, it was Ron James who told Ice King about the girl that defeated Bella Noche.
And now we see several wizards in the preview for “Thanks for the crabapples, Giuseppe!” and all of them are happy to see Ice King.
What if IK and grand master wizard had a play date with their cats and penguins? ;w;)
