Nowhere to Hide|| Cordelia/Open
Running was rather difficult in the snow, however, nothing could stop Cordy from prancing through the thick of trees, heart beating wildly, hair flying out behind her, and toes too kinetic to feel the cold. Gripping her hat as to prevent it from falling off, she tripped, plummeting into the frozen ground face-first.
She lay there a while, groaning, and using the cool substance to decrease the temperature she knew her face must be suffering. It would only be a minute before she would have to resume her escape. She didn't know where she would go, but there was no way she could go back there today. Everyone would stare at her, their prying eyes trying to decode her, undress her, peer inside where they ought not even look.
It wasn't their business, yet somehow, everybody knew what was in the letter delivered to her by the messenger. Why they couldn't have mailed it her was the question. Did they really think that delivering it to her in person-- before all of the student body-- would be less cruel?
Her heart sank even further than she thought possible. Maybe she should just lay here. Tomorrow someone would come looking for her, she knew. But for now, she'd lay here in the snow, and try to think her way through this.
Heaving a great sigh, she forced herself up just enough to flip onto her back. But upon opening her eyes, she found herself staring into a rather unfamiliar pair of eyes.
