Plenty of consoles at FOH...
We had our shop day for SpringFest last Sunday, when we addressed the fixtures and patched and played with the console. I was the student programmer, so I spent most of the day working on palettes and laying out the board for Spencer. We were able to use Quantum washes, a fixture with 3 rings of LED control for some basic pixel mapping. We loaded in Friday, during which I did some more board work with Spencer then turned over the desk to him for all of Saturday. I also got to climb tower and seat the chains in the head blocks.
Saturday afternoon the GrandMA 1 (Full) started crashing, so in the scramble to troubleshoot we brought in a Hog and patched it offline and a MA Ultra-Lite. The Ultra-Lite only puts out 2 universes and we needed four, so I worked with a technician who brought the Ultra-Lite to network two ColorBlast power supplies to output the other two universes via sACN. Lo and behold, the MA lasted the whole show without crashing, so we didn’t have to use either of hte backup consoles.
