vegan new years quiche 🎉

✨crust

🖤mix- 145g flour, .5 tsp salt, 1 tbsp sugar

🖤add- 55g coconut oil, 4 tbsp ice water

🖤roll, place in an 9 in pie pan, place in fridge

✨filling

🖤blend/ process- 400g firm tofu, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 2 tbsp nutritional yeast, 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black salt, 2 tbsp soy milk

🖤saute- 1 med onion, 1 clove garlic, mushrooms

🖤mix together and place in crust

🖤i topped mine with fresh bell pepper and cherry tomatoes

🖤(optional) place a plant milk/ aquaphaba “egg-wash” around crust

✨ bake 40 min at 350

🖤 (optional) grate vegan pepperjack cheese and cook 5 more minutes

Think Italian I live in Northern California. We think of it as being cold and wet. The truth is Northern California is the same latitude as southern Portugal, Spain and Italy. We just get more rain.
