Hello! I just wanted to tell you that either you or your twin has a doppleganger here in New Brunswick, Canada!! I saw them at a store called Giant Tiger yesterday. Had to do a double take!
WE GOT A TRIPLET SOMEWHERE
That after-credits is, in fact, real. Saw it myself. Laughed my ass off.
I LOVE IT!!
What's a Purpal? o:
My tall gay catman who runs a circus filled with magic and wonders, that everyone seems to like. I think it’s the hat.
Question regarding silver. I constantly wear a silver chain with a silver cross on it (it was my grandfather's, and I inherited it upon his passing). Do you think this would have an impact upon my chances of dealing favourably with the Fair Folk? Also, does Elsewhere U have an Anthropology department, by any chance?
I think something like that would have a magic of its own, even apart from the clear sight of silver - grounding, maybe? It would be harder to charm you away from yourself while you were wearing it. And yeah, they do!
Yoooo, you know Boogiepop Phantom? :D That's awesome!! Such an underrated series.
It was!! I was really keen on it and it... may have been my first light novel series? Unless I got my hands on Kino no Tabi before I got that one, I can’t remember. I should give it a rewatch someday, or reread the light novels. I’ve got all the ones Seven Seas put out, I think...
Yo, Rev, just wanna double check, because when it comes to the fandom, I see so many conflicting feelings about the name translations... The ones you mentioned in the post, are they all good? Like, what you had hoped for? (As you may have gleaned from the chat, I can get confused about these things fairly easily)
No worries - I didn’t actually state my opinion of some of them, after all. (Post in question).
Welp, you probably can tell, at least, that I am ecstatic about Tick’s name. Boy, am I glad it’s not Chick. I am so glad.
Roy Maddock - A-Okay with me! I think Maddock and Murdoch were both used in the fan-translations at some point or another, and I think I do actually prefer Maddock to Murdoch purely because of how it sounds. So I’m good with this. If they had gone with Murdoch, though, I wouldn’t have been too put out or anything.
Samantha vs “Samasa” - I’m pretty sure 'Samasa’ would have been more accurate to the katakana, so I’m a little ambivalent but overall I think I’m okay with the choice. Not that I know why Taylor Engel made that choice, but really it’s not something that will keep me up at night. I was far more concerned with how Taylor was going to handle her accent.
Begg - Again, we knew that they were going to go with ‘Begg’ in the synopsis, I just wanna say again that I’m so glad they didn’t do something like ‘Veg’ instead.
Kalia - I didn’t think they’d do anything different, really. I mean, if Taylor had written something like “Callia” instead I’d have raised a huge eyebrow, but I didn’t think they would.
grandpanacea replied to your post: there is a special place in hell for academics who...
I’m honestly convinced that academia uses such complex and convoluted jargon to make it as inaccessible as possible to the layperson.
literally same like what the fucking hell
