Kalu ask court to grannt him bail over ill health
Convicted former Abia State Governor Orji Kalu, on Tuesday prayed the Federal High Court in Lagos to grant him bail, pending the hearing of an appeal against his conviction.
Kalu, who is serving a 12-year imprisonment for N7.65billion fraud and money laundering, hinged his request on two grounds: ill health and desire to return to the Senate.
He said the court had the power to grant his request.

I need a new profile picture on Facebook so if any of you have nice photos of me, please let me know nyehehe.
I'll be typing until 8:30 ONLY (this is me disciplining myself). I'd be working on my PASS, but I am so clueless on how to even get books about my topic without having to go to a public library.
Speaking of public library, after visiting my aunts in Manila yesterday, my dad took a whole different route to give me a glimpse of how some colleges look, and I'm going to share my observations.
UP: This doesn't count, but I was there the other day nonetheless. I only saw a small portion I guess because I was too scared to look up lmao, but UP is HELLA GIGANTIC. Like, I don't know if its' good or bad. My parents told me that UP could give me the whole "US type" college experience (and they do have a point because UP has those vast buildings and just a lot of people in general), but they also said that it'll be hard to get used to it. I'm not a people person, but if I passed the test, it would still be great.
UST: We didn't really pass by in front of it, but my dad showed it to me from the end of the street. If y'all didn't know, my dad graduated there when he majored in Architecture. He didn't defend the school as much as I thought he would, but I could tell that he had that "if I could turn back time" tone. He also said that there'd be a lot of people in it too, I think.
DLSU: This one was the one we passed in front of. It kind of reminded me of a White House replica lul. I didn't see the inside though. My dad mostly just talked about Manila at this time, really. But he also pointed out CSB and it's really nothing big. I thought it was more expensive that DLSU itself. But is it worth that? No offence really from the bottom of my heart, but if CSB can prove to be levelled with La Salle, I thought they'd have stepped up their positive publicity more.
I haven't seen Ateneo. Manila is actually a really good place to stay if you're worrying about distance to any of these schools, but quality wise for me, living with my aunts wouldn't be a breeze.
Anyway, I'd also like to talk about the Juniors. And the seniors. Well, yes, more of Juniors. In varsity, I've tried to hear out their side. Actually one side in particular. That was probably not the best choice. I may just be a quiet listener, but if she thinks that I'm going to listen to her tell off the seniors to my face, the one trying to make everything equal between the batches, then I'm going to stop listening to her. I'm okay with the rest of them though. But y'all just do what you gotta do.
Some particular people have also been extra miserable these past few days. One person in particular again, but I'm not mentioning names. She's a girl, though. And I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, but whenever I try to brighten up her space, she declines it. Nothing against it, really, but I don't think it's too healthy. I just hope she can hold up, even if it means without me.
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT. My next tournament will be in ISM. Y'all know what that means. He doesn't read this anymore, so that's good. I'll probably change my url if he finds this. Because tbh, when his friends brought back a really cheesy Facebook note with my name on it, I was this close to ask him how things were going. ARGH I DONT WANT TO BUT I DO AND EVERYTHING SUCKS okay I'll stop. But this rant isn't over.
I also brought back Tigger and Eeyore to my bed. I grabbed them when I watched The Tigger Movie. I didn't cry but I was on the verge. I love them so much.
I should probably start studying. I'm seven minutes late.
