Many small businesses, non-profits, individual researchers, and larger institutions depend on grants to fund their activities and livelihoods. Whether from private foundations or governmental entities, these funds are given through a competitive process. Through market forces, this process seeks to align funders’ desires with projects that achieve results. This book seeks to demystify this…

Seeking Funding and Grant-Writing Interns
A non-profit feminist bookstore - the Southern Woman's Bookstore - is in the developmental stages and is looking for a few interns interested in working on our Funding Team.
This feminist bookstore and community center will only become a reality if we get the necessary funding to make it happen. Help us create a space for Southern feminists, womanists, women of color, queers, indigenous, and other marginalized people to learn and grow (and be recognized for their various artistic contributions to society!)

moving expenses fundraising! EDITING and WRITING (and sartorialism.)
As you may or may not know, o tumblr, I am moving to Canada to become an Actually Employed Academic, a feat which I am vastly pleased with having managed. However, I have to get there. Once I get there, I get paid. And have moving expenses reimbursed! How nice, for Future Me. Present Me needs to give a lot of money to U-Haul.
If I was an artist, I would open commissions! I am so not an artist.
What I am is an experienced editor (I work on contract for a very successful e-publisher in the romance genre, and I've worked for other small fiction presses; I also have edited/proofread/indexed for academic presses) and a successful grant-writer (I have won a lot of grants.) I will edit your thing. I will write your grant.
Rates:
developmental editing (where I tell you how to make your work better structurally, plotwise, stronger characters, clearer language, etc): 0.01 cents/word (i.e. a 5000 word story is $50)
line editing (grammar/spelling/clarity only): 0.05 cents/word ($25 for a 5000-word story)
grant-writing: email or askbox with a description of your project and we'll come up with a fair rate
editing for academic or business work: 0.02 cents/word
I won't write fanfic on commission, sadly. I don't like the legal issues surrounding it. (Also I've got ethical qualms). But if for some reason you want me to write you original fiction, I will consider it and we can talk!
A BONUS THING: I will do wardrobe and style consultations over the internet. I am very, very good at helping people look good for an event, job interview, etc. I love working with people's own sense of style to help them look fantastic. (I have done this for many friends in the past!) $5 for a one-time one-outfit consultation; $15 for a 30-minute discussion of style in general; $45 for 'you and I go through your entire wardrobe, either in person or by Skype'. In-person is 'in NYC or accessible by public transport', at the moment.
Thank you guys so much; August is a really difficult month for academics always, because most of us get paid on 10-month contracts which start up in September; adding moving expenses on top of that is stretching my budget to its limits. I hope I can help you with your projects! Feel free to reblog.
