Trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people have always been here, will always be here, and deserve to live freely, safely and joyfully. I see and support you.
🖼✍️🏾reposted from @nyculture On Trans Day of Visibility, we’re proud to amplify @QueerArt’s Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists, now open for application. ✨
Now in its seventh year, this annual grant provides critical support to Black trans women whose work has often been under-recognized in the visual art field. Developed in partnership with @mariette_pathy_allen, @aarynnlang, and @serenajara_, the Illuminations Grant awards $10,000 to an artist and $1,250 to finalists, and applicants must be self-identified Black trans women working in visual art in the United States.
@NYCulture is proud to support Queer|Art and its vital work bringing intergenerational mentorship, public programming, and material support to shape culture and drive societal change.
Applications are open now through July 2, 2026. Learn more at queer-art.org/illuminations-grant or the link in our bio.
