Today the pain from granulation tissue (over grown tissue with nerve endings around my feeding tube stoma) got so bad I almost got in a car accident and almost had to cancel doing my telemeetings because I physically couldn’t speak.
I asked the interventional radiology nurse what I could do for it a few days ago when the pain was less severe and she said nothing till it gets bigger. Well, you’d better believe I drove to Walgreens today and got myself some lidocaine gel to put on it. Almost instantly after using it, I had no pain.
This tissue is the size of half a pea and it was causing such bad pain I was bent over hyperventilating in the store. So I called my dr today and told them IR didn’t want to do anything and they made an appointment for me.
The plus side is, since I’ll be seeing my doctor anyway, I might be able to get my GJ conversion and a button a month earlier than I was going to. Having a button might actually help the granulation tissue as well.
