I pray to the Fury this missive finds you well. If this has reached you then likely too has news of my fate. I am sorry I cannot be there for you now. Halone has called me to her halls and there I shall serve her. It has truly been an honor to get to know you and your son. I regret that I will not see him grow into as fine of a man as you are. Training you in the ways of the lance was a rare treat I had not expected. I am sure you are aware of how we Ishgardians are to outsiders. Yet I find for having known you, having known your son and my adopted daughter... I am the better for it. Thank you.
Stay strong Una’to. Stay the course you choose for yourself and your family. There is a fire within you that none should ever extinguish. Keep burning brightly. Illuminate the path before you that others may follow your example.
I would ask a favor, a final request if I may. She will need someone. She is likely lost right now. Please watch out for her. I have no idea if my other brothers of the Ward will be there but she trusts you. You are a brother to her, please watch out for her.
I must be off to meet His Eminence shortly for a meeting of state regarding a new blessing ceremony so I cannot write more. Please know though that my time spent with you and your son are some of my most treasured moments. With you two and my ward it was as if I had regained a family more than just my brothers in arms. Thank you Una’to and may both the Fury and Rhalgr bless you and yours.
Ser Vellguine de Bourbagne
