Hey there anon, I’m glad you like my art!! <33. I’ll try to do my best to help :D
I’m not sure what type of tablet you want: with or without screen? Personally, I prefer the ones without screen: they do take a bit to get used to, but they offer you the huge bonus of not having your hand in front of your face, blocking your range of vision xD. They’re also way cheaper!
And you know what? I have good news for you, fellow broke artist! Contrary to popular belief, there’s barely any difference between the more expensive screenless tablets and the cheaper than dirt ones. They behave the same way. Here’s an example:
The first image was drawn using a 500$ tablet (a Wacom Intuos Pro L a friend lent me for a few days).
I drew the second one using a 100$ tablet (my old tablet, a Huion Inspiroy Q11K V2)
And the third one was drawn using a 20$ tablet (my current tablet, Gaomon S620. I’ve created all my Artober drawings using this tablet)
Not much of a difference between these drawings, is there? That’s because it’s YOU who is gonna be drawing and do all the work, your tablet is not gonna do it for you, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it :D
And I cannot stress this enough: when it cames to non-screen tablets, you can’t go too far wrong.
Once that’s been said, here are a few requirements a tablet must meet for me to buy it:
Battery-free stylus (I don’t want to worry about recharging my pen or finding it without power when I want to draw)
8192 pressure levels, 5080 LPI and 266 PPS (this will ensure you have a good experience with your tablet!)
It must have at least 4 express keys
Once I have a list of tablets with these requirements (and after reading the comments, THIS IS IMPORTANT!!), I simply buy the cheapest one xD
If you don’t have a lot of money, the Gaomon S620 is super cheap and I LOVE IT. If you want a bigger tablet (the Gaomon one is rather small), I only have good things to say about the Huion Inspiroy Q11K V2.
I hope this helps anon. Good luck!! <3
