Intersections Show Opening and Awards Ceremony May 2022 @graphite_edmonds @graphiteartscenter I am so overwhelmed with love and gratitude for the new Graphite Gallery. Their Intersections show opening and awards ceremony was simply AMAZING! Kai and I are so honored to be included in their first juried show in such a beautiful facility in the heart of adorable downtown Edmonds, WA. In fancy gallery spaces where art is only to be admired from a distance, we ask that people get close to interact and touch our mixed- media Collage. Feel the layers of paint. Stroke the different fabrics and materials. Differentiate the papers and inks used on canvas. There is a lot to experience. The Intersections Show seeks inclusion. So does our art. Our collaborative piece: 'Feral' Cat Playing Possum, is a tribute to our beloved rescue kitty Mittzy Mae, who never stop rebelling against normative expectations of what a cat should be. Taken from her feral family and "housebroken", she never lost her wild ways. When most Feral cats live an average of 3 years, Mittzy Mae lived almost 20, on her own terms, teaching us so many life lessons along the way. RIP MM. Feral is for sale directly through the gallery. The show runs through July 16th and is open every Saturday noon-4pm. It is also accessible everyday through the Charcoal Restaurant 4pm-830pm. Kai and I will be in the gallery for 3rd Thursday Artwalk May 19th and June 16th. Hope to see you there!
