Gonna be an odd question about your recent post but, are grass seeds more common in certain areas than others? I mean, I come from South America and that's kinda rare here for some reason, so, I don't know whether it's "different" grass types or not.
You’re probably thinking of a much friendlier version of a grass seed than the one mentioned in the post. You can learn about the evil kind of grass seed and why they’re so painful here.
From the research that I’ve done, all grass seeds are relatively the same shape (because different grasses are related to each other), and the shape is what causes the seed to burrow into a dog’s skin or ear. Instead, I would ask two questions:
Do you live in an urban area?
Do you live somewhere where most of the grass you see is part of a lawn?
If either of those is true, you may not be seeing as many grass seed injuries because dogs around you are not romping around an environment where grass is found, or where grass is allowed to go to seed without being mowed. Hope this clears things up!
