Did you know that our brains are naturally geared towards a negativity bias? That means we look out for the bad, before we see the good. It used to be a survival mechanism, so we could suss out the danger before it pounced on us, but now it can be something that limits us, especially if our negative thoughts become out of control. Practising gratitude is one way of improving our perspective and improving overall wellbeing by balancing out the negative thoughts with positive ones that lower stress, boost our self-esteem and improve our life satisfaction. I tried it last year and fully committed to it, and now my everyday joy has returned. Want to know more and how you can get into the habit of gratitude?
