Our first aspec writing prompt!
Hi, everyone! We’re a new accessible, inclusive, and positive writing and community blog--made by aspec people, for aspec people!
We’ll be posting weekly writing prompts, and then sharing the submissions people send us in response! Here’s the first one:
“What do you love about being aspec?”
Want to participate, but you’re not really a writer? Send us character or story ideas! Send us book and tv show recommendations! Send us art! Send us your OWN writing prompt! As long as it follows our submission guidelines, it’s fair game!
Have aspec writing you want to share that’s not related to our current prompt? That’s cool, too! The more aspec content, the better!
Come check out our blog for more info on what we’re all about, and follow us to see what people submit this week! We’re excited to meet you!!
Another important ace opinion: A-spec identities in response to trauma don't have to be a thing that holds you back from recovery. They can be an asset, a way of reclaiming your right to say no to the pressures of dating or having sex when you aren't ready.
If you've been traumatized by dating or sexual violence, the most important thing is that you seek professional help so you can be a happy and functional human being again. That recovery doesn't have to include jumping back into dating or sex immediately - or ever. There's nothing wrong with being single or celibate or just really picky if that is truly what lets you make peace with who you are post-trauma.
Recovery should be about what makes you feel right and whole. If identifying as a-spec helps you get there, then more power to you for claiming it.
