[ID: A grey comma sitting on the end of my finger with its wings open. The wings are bright orange with black borders to every edge. The edges of the wings are jagged, similar to the edge of dead leaves. It has a few black spots throughout the orange part of the wings and a few yellow spots on the border of the wings. /End ID]
This has got to be one of the coolest pictures I've ever taken! It took about 15 tries before their wings finally opened.
This is a very new gray comma (Polygonia progne). I love these guys, we hardly ever get to see them.
