Dragging her feet as she ascended the steps to her house, all she wanted was nothing more than to relax. She forced her way through the front door and sighed deeply. “I’m home,” Y/N called into the house and slowly made her way to the couch.
“Gray?!” She plopped down onto her side on the soft furniture. Right, he’s working late today... All she could think about was how awful her day was, it made it even harder when Gray wasn’t there to help. She could feel her eyes well up at the thought of her stubborn clients, rude coworkers and dismissing boss.
She cried softly on the couch, but knowing her love would be home soon just wasn’t comfort enough. She eventually fell asleep as she waited for Gray to come home.

Gray huffed as he opened the door to his and Y/N’s shared home. “Baby, I’m home where are ya?” The man asked aloud as he took off his shoes and bag. His eyes wandered around the living room, kissed by the sunset beaming through the window. He caught a glimpse of his wife’s figure on the couch and he smiled as he walked towards her. She lifted her head from the couch, eyes red and puffy from the tears she previously shed. Gray stopped in his tracks and kneeled next to the couch quickly. “Hey hey hey, what’s wrong? What happened?” He cupped her face and searched her soft eyes for answers. “Tired.” She mumbled as her gaze dropped to the floor. Gray frowned at her answer and stood up.
“Gray? What are-” The woman was cut off by her husband lifting her from the couch. “Cmere, we’re going to our room.” He told as he began to walk, leaving her no room to argue. All Gray wanted was to give his wife the love she deserves. He gently tossed her on their bed. “Gr-Gray!” Her cheeks heated up as he climbed on top of her. “Tell me what’s wrong, love.” He peppered her face in kisses, awaiting her answer. Y/N took a deep breath before expressing how hard her day was, the trials and tribulations she faced at work. She teared up as recalled her day to her husband, he hovered over her on the bed. “I’m so sorry baby, you deserve so much better than those assholes.” He gritted his teeth at the thought but quickly turned his attention back to the love of his life laying under him.
He wrapped his arms around the woman and rolled onto his side while pulling her into his chest. “You’re ok now, I’m here for you...and I swear I’ll give those clowns an ass kickin’ if ya want me to.” He smirked down at his partner and she raised her head from his chest. “Graaay you’d get me fired.” She whined with a giggle. “Mmm you’re better off working somewhere they appreciate you anyway.” He spoke matter-of-factly, knowing it was light hearted and that she was strong enough to get through it all. “Yeah yeah, I’ll be ok though, just glad to have you here with me. And NOT beating people up on the street for my sake.” Y/N joked and nuzzled into her lover. Gray began to rub her back in a soothing motion, “Always here for you, darlin’,” he kissed the crown of her head. “no matter what.”
Gray moved to hold her face in his hands. He caressed her cheeks and kissed her passionately on her sweet lips. He pulled away and looked at her with soft eyes. “What?” She whispered as her mouth crept into a smile. “Just admiring my smart, strong and beautiful wife, the best thing that ever happened to me.” Gray spoke in a hushed tone back and gave his angel a kiss on the corner of her mouth. He then pulled her closer to him. “Graysie you’re such a softy.” Y/N just cuddled closer to his comfortable chest, realizing he had stripped his shirt at some point as well but decided not to comment on it. Gray blushed, he didn’t know if it was more from the nickname or the statement. He huffed, “Yeah only for you.” They started to drift off to sleep in each others arms.
“Love you.” Y/N mumbled before she dozed off. “I love you too.” Gray whisper and fell into a deep sleep.
