“Hey, sweetie. What are you doing here all by yourself?”.

“I’ve a lot to think about mama. This is a good place to make up my mind”.

“About what?”.

Jessie isn’t sure if she should confide in her mother. She would insist to help her, if she finds out she becomes a grandma. First Jessie wants to make a decision what’s in the best interest of her and this baby without interference of her mom and dad before she tells them.

“Look Jessie, I can see something's bothering you. You’ve been so quiet these past few days, that’s not like you”.

“Mom, you need to trust me on this. I can’t tell you anything right now, but I promise you that I will tell you what’s going on as soon as I made a decision what I’m gonna do”.

“I trust you. You’re a smart girl, but you have a family and you don’t need to bear your problems alone”.

“I know and I appreciate that a lot. But I’m responsible for my own mistakes and I need to solve this on my own”.

“Okay, I don’t like this. I want to help you, but I respect your wishes. Sometimes I hate your independence though”.

Her mom and dad always told her how wonderful Granite Falls is and how happy they have been here. They were right. Jessie likes this place too. It’s very quiet and peaceful.

Finally she has the time to think about the decisions she has to make. Right before she went to Granite Falls she had done a pregnancy test and it was not a surprise that she was pregnant indeed. She told herself many times what a fool she’d been, but that doesn’t matter anymore. She can’t turn back the clock, she has to deal with it whether she likes it or not.

She gets torn between conflicting feelings. When she places her hand on her belly and thinks what’s growing inside her she’s overcome with awe and joy. This small human being has already changed her and she starts to understand what it’s like to love someone unconditional. But the last few years Jessie worked hard to achieve where she is now and she’s not ready to give up now she almost reached her goal. A baby will ruin everything she worked for.

When you’re pregnant, everyone tells you how wonderful it is to have kids, but nobody tells you how difficult it is to let them go again. All these years you take care of them and then one day they leave and you need to let them loose. They will make mistakes and you can’t always be there to solve their problems for them anymore.

Ivy thinks about her other daughter. She’s convinced they will meet again. Hopefully Jill doesn’t blame her she couldn’t be there for her.

“If you really care about her Rick, why don’t you talk to her? I tried everything to convince her that she’s ruining her life, but she won’t listen to me, so I stopped doing that and I will be there for her if she falls eventually, but it doesn’t have to go down that road. I’m sure she will listen to you. You can prevent her from making a terrible mistake”.

“I don’t want her to think that we can get back together again. It just didn’t work”.

“I know you, you wouldn’t forgive yourself if something happens to her Rick. Talk to her, at least then you have done everything what’s in your power”.

“I’ll think about it”.

“Would your relationship have worked if she hadn’t been so possessive?”.

“Maybe, I don’t know”.

“I think you have a chance to let your relationship work if you’re both willing to work on it. You both changed , you know. You’re not teenagers anymore”.

“Hey, where is Sebastian? Is he already to his work?”.

Christy was used to Sebastian’s snoring on the couch every morning when she enters the living room

“No… he’s still sleeping… in my room”. Jessie says while she’s stirring the eggs without looking up. 

She doesn’t want to look Christy in the eye. Afraid she can’t hide her regret and pain of her love making with Sebastian last night. Jessie thought he would be the perfect guy to share her first time with, but she was wrong. He hurt her, not physically but emotionally. She should have stopped him when she had the chance. She knew he didn’t love her and now she knows why. There is someone else in his live... or was. When he made love to her, his mind was with the other girl. A girl with the same name as her twin sister.
