Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you.
In no order (excepting the first two, which are the foundational texts of my life, basically):
Les Miserables, Victor Hugo
The Protector of the Small, Tamora Pierce (technically four books, I don't care, fight me)
Night Watch, Terry Pratchet
Tricketer's Choice/Trickster's Queen, Tamora Pierce (pair don't care)
A Scandal in Bohemia, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (technically a short story. WHATEVER.)
The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde
Treasure Island, Robert Louis Stevenson
Persuasion, Jane Austen
Howl's Moving Castle, Diana Wynne Jones
Richard III, William Shakespeare
Honorable Mentions: The Country Wife--William Wycherley, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and Travesties--Tom Stoppard, Soulless--Gail Carringer, Jane Eyre--Charlotte Bronte, Stardust--Neil Gaiman
I tag: bringmeyourloves, gerlachness, graybean, thimbleuponyourindex, tessellation29, and doctorprincess.

I secretly think... that Rothko is kinda overrated.
PLEASE DON'T END OUR FRIENDSHIP.
Top 5 badass tv/movie ladies.
Sarah Manning (Orphan Black). Tenacious and frighting and balls-out resourceful and a powder keg and boy oh boy, do you not want to get on that girl's bad side. Possible top fave of all time.
Olivia Dunham (Fringe). Smart, smart, smart, stubborn, emotional and honest, darling heart.
Donna Noble (Doctor Who) always and forever. I don't even watch Doctor Who anymore, but Donna was the absolute best. She was snarky and rude and pushy and the best friend anyone could ask for, and so, so important. Best.
Phryne Fisher is all I aspire to be in the world. (Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries)
Joan Watson (Elementary). She was not the lady Watson I wanted, but she was the lady Watson we all deserved and the perfect, perfect, perfect first one on network TV, and she ended up being even better than I had hoped. (Also every Watson is my favorite Watson this is cheating I don't caaare)
Honorable mentions go to: Pepper Potts, Natasha Romanoff, Peggy Carter (Marvel), Dorothy Williams (Miss Fisher's), Helena, Cosima Neihaus, Alison Hendrix (Orphan Black), Jane Smith (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), Martha Jones (Doctor Who), Sophie Hatter (Howl's Moving Castle), Helen Parr (The Incredibles), Captain Amelia (Treasure Planet), Sophie Deveraux, Parker (Leverage), Dr. Temperance Brennan, Angela Montenegro (Bones), and so many more.

5. Favorite drink? (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
Alcoholic varies but it's usually whiskey, white wine of some kind, or vodka. Non-alcoholic? Jasmine green or jasmine oolong teas.
18. What is a television show that makes you want to strangle someone?
Does how much I want to kill Big Dick Paul on Orphan Black count? Because he needs to be shot in the face by Mrs. S already. If not, I hate nothing more than I hate Trailer Park Boys.
50. What is a memory that you're very fond of?
I once spent four hours curled up on the leather couch in front of Ulysses Deriding Polyphemus in the National Gallery, writing and sketching and listing to music and looking at the painting. I couldn't even tell you why I love it so much. I don't even know why.
If you sent me an ask, Tumblr just ate it! Please send again!
