Here we go again *sigh*
Okay, I was going to bed but then I saw some posts about what’s happening in the Fairy Tail fandom and... I couldn’t help but write something. I really hate how some people are taking any small opportunity to hurt others because of the shipping wars. I just... I can’t understand it. Fairy Tail was supposed to be about family and the power of friendship. However, here we are... Blaming and hating on each other again.
Yes, I know that what those Graylu shippers have done in Twitter was bad. Really bad. Authors don’t deserve to get hate because of their work. I agree that constructive reviews are very helpful, but doing that... Is just plain rude. Fairy Tail belongs to Mashima sensei and hating on him because of shipping is plain inmature. However, I don’t think that we should judge and stigmatize a whole fandom or shippers because of a little group of rude people in it. In fact, it’s the main problem in our fandom. I saw a post in the tag recalling an incident of Nalu shippers sending hate to Mashima sensei because of the prison scene between Natsu and Lisanna and all the fandom getting pissed at all the group of shippers. But that time it wasn’t the whole group of Nalu shippers who did that and this is the same case. It’s not fair what’s happening to the Graylu shippers... It was some people in another social network (Twitter) who did that, NOT THE WHOLE GROUP of them. Moreover, let’s not forget that the fandom’s behavior is different in each social network (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram...) so... let’s not jump on conclusions without knowing the whole situation.
I’m not a Graylu shipper, but all I can say to the ones that are suffering the consequences of something they haven’t done is to stay strong and ignore the haters. I hope that someday these stupid shipper wars are over *sigh*
