Marrigold always love to lick things as a child. Rocks, glass, trees, people, if she could reach it she would lick it. This evolved as she grew older and she started experimenting with different candies, which led to her making candies, which led her to opening the best candy shop in town.

The map to Maahe’s Cat Cafe, the ground floor (lower left) is the cafe proper, the basement (upper left) is where the cats are fed, taken care of, and have a place away from people if they so choose, and the upper floor is where Maahes, Lucy, and a few other of the cafe employees live.
