Stuck, Marla was completely and utterly stuck. She didn’t even know what had happened, she was swimming around along the beach line of Leuda and then suddenly a wave swept her up and over onto the boardwalk. Now the mermaid was a good 20 yards away from the water, and had no way back expect to wiggle, jiggle and slide.
Sighing, Marla looked up at the sun, could she get back to the water before drying up? She seriously hoped so. Scooting along the wood, she winced as a sliver pushed it’s self under one of her scales. It hurt a lot. How was she supposed to get where she needed to go, if every movement was super painful? She did not want any more of these pieces of wood in her tail.
Inspecting her wound to try and find the sliver she heard footsteps behind her. Whimpering as she yanked out the piece of wood and tossed it aside she looked over her shoulder. There was a man walking past he didn’t look very strong but she had been surprised by humans before.
“Excuse me! Can I ask you for a favor?”
