Plant of the Day
Tuesday 10 April 2018
In this glasshouse Secale cereale (grazing rye, Hungarian grazing rye) has been growing for a couple of months over the winter as a green manure and then dug in (last week) to improve soil fertility and structure. Soon it will be planted with a range of exotic edibles for the World Garden at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Hyde Hall Garden, Essex, UK.
