One Summer Night (Part 2)
Pairings: Seokjin x FemReader, Hoseok x FemReader
Warnings: LOTS of 50s/60s slang and references, swearing, love triangle, sexual themes in future
Summary: Seokjin meets Y/N while on vacation at the beach. He’s a greaser that smokes, gets in fights and overall has a bad reputation. Y/N doesn’t know what she’s getting herself into when the greaser shows himself a different side to himself while he’s away from his peers. What’s going to come of this when Y/N transfers to his school and a certain friend takes a liking to someone?

Sighing, you rubbed the side of your head. Why was Seokjin being so confusing to you? “Did you ever think about me when we separated? Because I thought about you everyday.” You poured your heart out, deciding it was either all or nothing at this point. “Yes. I thought about holding you everyday like I did this summer. But here at school.. things are different for me. I’m scared you’re gonna leave, okay?” Seokjin ran a hand through his hair, unsure of where he was going with this. He didn’t want to admit just how terrible he was just yet. “I’d never leave you. I’m staying right here.”
Seokjin sighed, letting out the breath he was holding in. “I’ll let you meet my friends. I’m sorry for making you feel like I felt ashamed of you. I’m just ashamed of my past and I don’t want them tainting you.” You nodded at his explanation, forgiving him because even you knew you two were complete opposites. You gently squeezed his hand and Seokjin pressed a kiss to your head. Sitting in comfortable silence, you rested your head on his shoulder. “Some of the cheerleaders were looking for me, so I might have to head back earlier than expected.”
“That’s alright. I’ll catch up with you at a better time. I’m just glad you’re back.”
You beamed at his words, walking away in deep thought.
You heard footsteps approaching from behind you and you jolted, clearly expecting the stubborn boy you talked to not even five minutes ago. "Do you wanna have a sleepover with me and the girls?" Joy softly spoke up with concern lacing her words. You contemplated for a second but didn't want to disappoint so you agreed. Maybe you'd feel better or get a good distraction out of this.
Joy smiled kindly, leading you to the car that Yeri and the girls were waiting for you in. You held your skirt up a bit and watched your step, not noticing the way Hoseok stared at you a few yards away. He had an elbow leaned against his car as his eyes followed your figure intently. "That's Seokjin's girl." Jimin stated matter of factly as he dug through his pockets for a lighter. The older boy scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "Seokjin isn't even good for her. I'd know what's good for her. She's too innocent for.." Hoseok trailed off with his words and rubbed the back of his neck.
"For what, huh?" Jungkook obliviously looked up at the two boys, clearly not in on the conversation.
"You're young, don't worry bout it." Hoseok ran a hand through his dark hair, in an attempt to slick it back.
"We gotta get going guys. We g-gotta bug out!" Suddenly Taehyung's breathing was fast and his whole demeanor screamed that he was nervous. Taehyung had pretty severe anxiety after he was jumped a few months ago back in April. He was on his way to school when gangs from another school came up behind him and pulled a pocket knife out on him.
They beat him so bad, the poor kid had a limp. He had a black eye and a nasty cut on his upper left cheek.
"Kid! Relax, what's wrong?" Namjoon took a step closer to the boy with an unreadable expression on his face. "They're looking for Jin.." Taehyung breathed out, his eyes blown out and unfocused. Seokjin slid off his leather jacket and his eyes darkened. "I'm not afraid of a rumble."
Hoseok stormed over to him, swear words and insults leaving his mouth. "Do it and you'll worry Y/N even more! Do you even care?!"
"Since when do you give a shit what goes on between me and my girlfriend." Seokjin spat, making sure to emphasize the word 'girlfriend'. Hoseok's nostrils flared in anger, his eyebrows furrowing as he looked at his friend for a moment. Namjoon looked at the two of them, feeling uneasy. He wanted to intervene but maybe it would be better if they talked it out. "Go ahead and do it. Make us look like the filthy rowdy greasers we are, right?" Hoseok's words struck a chord in everyone and it went silent. The pep rally and tires screeching as Yeri's car passed them, was the only noise that could be heard.

"Do you wanna get your ears pierced, honey?" Joy asked sweetly, grabbing a small bag with sanitary tools off of her tall wooden dresser. You shook your head and your hands violently waved at her. "No! I don't think my father would like that very much.." You admitted awkwardly with every girl in the room staring at you. "Cmon. It's just an earring." Joy nudged you slightly, with a reassuring smile. Yeri crossed her arms and scoffed.
"Y/N is a little goody two shoes. It's starting to really annoy me. She could never be one of us." Yeri spoke up after Joy dragged you to her bathroom and you were both out of earshot. "Well, I think that goody two shoes has a certain greaser wrapped around her finger." Jennie knowingly pointed out, grabbing a wig styled exactly how you did your own hair. "Give me that!" Yeri snickered, putting it unevenly on her head. She purposely made her voice sound like yours and played with a strand of hair from the wig. Jennie burst into laughter, kicking her feet in the air as she held her stomach.
“Joy that hurts!" You gasped, feeling the sharp needle poke through your earlobe. You never had anything like this before and you weren't entirely sure your parents would approve of this. "That's alright. Ice should do the trick. You'll be fine in no time."
As she finished up and cleaned the blood, you both walked back to her room. She was very gentle with you and took her time and for that you were thankful. She seemed to be the friendliest out of the girls and you began to wonder how she even started hanging out with a group like them.
"Oh look at me I-"
Your heart sank as you entered Joy's bedroom. Yeri looked like a deer caught in headlights as she shared your gaze. She hastily threw off the wig, letting it fly somewhere on the floor in Joy's messy but large bedroom.
"Are you making fun of me, Yeri?" You timidly questioned her but your voice was barely above a whisper. "Some people are so touchy." Yeri declared, pushing herself of the bed to look out the window. "What are the boys doing here?" Jennie gasped, looking down at the revealing nightgown she was sporting right in front of the window. "My parents will flip!" Joy groaned, gently pushing the girls out of view and lifted her window up with both hands.
"Oh Y/N! Wherefore art thou Y/N!" Jungkook screamed at the top of his lungs, his head thrown back as he knelt on one knee in the backseat of the car. "Quit it." Seokjin glared, lightly smacking the brunette over the head. Jimin and Taehyung were laughing hysterically but Seokjin didn't find this amusing at all. Since it was late at night and the lights were on in Joy's room, the boys could see inside perfectly and Hoseok couldn't help but yearn to see you. Even if it was just for a second. This was all he'd get anyway, you know with his best friend being your summer fling and future boyfriend.
A fire ignited within Hoseok when you suddenly locked eyes. Giving you a small wink, he shoved his hands in his pockets. You couldn't believe your eyes. Your face turned beat red and you practically jolted out of the windows view. Those greasers really were something.
Hoseok chuckled softly and shook his head. With the way you were flustered so easily he couldn't help but want to do small things like this more. Yoongi eyed Hoseok suspiciously, then turned his head to look at Seokjin. "Alright guys, Yoongi needs me! See you losers later." Yeri giggled obnoxiously, crawling out of the window. "Hey! Be careful!" Jennie shrieked, peering from behind the bed. Yeri slowly slid down the drain pipe, cautiously landing on both of her feet. Prancing over to Yoongi, he gently wrapped his arm around her waist and they couldn't get their hands off of each other the moment they reconnected. Yoongi hopped into the drivers seat, pulling out of the driveway.
"Hey what about us?" Jimin exasperatedly asked, throwing his hands up in the air.
"Hit the pavement!" Yoongi grunted with a flick of his cigarette. Yeri softly kissed his cheek, rolling her eyes at the boys through the rear view mirror. Hoseok sighed, jumping out of the car. The rest of the boys followed suit, mumbling in annoyance amongst themselves. "You know when a guy chooses a girl over his buddies, something's gotta be wrong!" Taehyung shouted, cupping his mouth with his hands.
"Alright guys. Let's just go get some milkshakes. There's no use arguing with Yoongs." Seokjin comfortingly patted Jungkook's back. Everyone tried to ignore the obvious growing tension between Hoseok and Seokjin. But it was getting harder to by the minute.
Seokjin was a real patient guy, really. But he was surely losing it when it came to Hoseok. He saw the little thing he did earlier to you.
What was his deal? Why was he trying to get close to you?
"Hey, Y/N? Are you going to the dance?" Jennie asked, as she twirled a strand of her dark locks. "Well.. I was hoping Seokjin would ask me." You admitted sheepishly, fiddling with the necklace that you always wore. "Oh I'm sure it'll work out! You guys are so cute together." You smiled confidently at her words but you couldn't help but ponder what Seokjin meant earlier. He said you inspired him to change for the better, but how true was that? You desperately wanted to believe his words but when you saw how odd Seokjin acted around his friends you couldn't help but get insecure.
He was still the gentle and sweet boy he was back in June. You shouldn't judge a book by his cover and Seokjin didn't give you much of a reason to not trust him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Clutching your books in your arms, you slowly approached your locker. Seokjin was leaning against it, looking over at you expectantly. "Jinnie." You greeted meekly, maneuvering around him to put in your locker combination. "I've missed you. Did you think about what I-"
“What's this?" You interrupted him with panic in your voice. Seokjin's expression softened, staring at you in pure awe. You gently reached up for Seokjin's cheek, caressing it. Seokjin broke eye contact with you, slouching slightly as guilt seemed to come for every fiber in his being. "It's just a bruise."
"But who did it? Don't tell me you fought anyone! Seokjin.." So many thoughts ran through your head as you looked at him. Seokjin just wanted to impress you by trying to seem like a better person than he actually was. The local police department knew his name and he's been in and out of jail so many times, Namjoon had to bail his sorry ass out. Seokjin's father didn't even care about him and everyone in the gang knew that. Seokjin was just as cold and fierce as ice but he was fiery and blazing red when he was pissed.
He was too much of everything to even be anything. But everyone knew one thing about Seokjin. One of these days he was going to lash out and when he did.. no one would be able to control him.
"Are you alright atleast?" You asked quietly, gently resting your head against Seokjin's firm chest as you warmly embraced him. "Yes. I'm doing okay." Seokjin knew he blatantly lied but he tried to shake the guilt as he gently patted the back of your head. His closed his eyes tightly, taking in your sweet scent as he held you close. A couple of students were looking at you two with curiosity and a girl whispered quietly amongst her friends.
“Seokjin is such a dreamboat.. she’s so lucky.” The group of seven boys and Yeri’s friends approached you two as you hesitantly pulled away from each other.
Hoseok had on a sleeveless black shirt with some jeans and he looked like he didn’t get much sleep last night. You gave him a worried glance, unsure of how to approach him. “Hey lovebirds! We gotta get to class you know. I mean unless you wanna go to the janitors closet or something.” Jimin grinned, wiggling his eyebrows as he pivoted on his heel. “Since when did Park Jimin care about his studies?” Namjoon chuckled, grabbing the smaller boy and dragging him to english class. “What did he mean about the janitors closet? Isn’t it forbidden to even go in there?” You asked innocently, looking over at your new group of friends, (who couldn’t stop laughing by the way.)
“Ah it’s not too important, Y/N.” Seokjin genuinely laughed, ruffling your hair a bit. You felt your heart soar a bit. That was the first time you ever made him laugh like that. It felt so sincere. “You’re so cute.” Hoseok felt a smile tug at his lips even though the dark under eyes he had didn’t look too good. You felt blood rush to your face and you stared down at the floor. “Hoseok.” Seokjin glared. “Guess we’ll see you later. We have class to get to.” Hoseok smirked, gently taking your hand in his as he led you to class.
You waved the tall greaser goodbye and looked over at Hoseok with wonder.
You both took your seats, sitting next to each other. It was science class and you both decided to be partners since the teacher let everyone pick themselves. You thought maybe since it was the first week of school they were being nicer and more leisurely. At your old school everything was a lot different but you didn’t mind. “Hoseok? Are you doing okay? You just seem.. tired.” Taking a break from writing, you turned your attention to him. “Are you concerned about me Kitten?” Hoseok smiled tiredly, resting his head in his hands as he tilted his head.
“I can do the work for now. I think you should rest up, please?” You tried to ignore the pet name but you couldn’t exactly ignore the butterflies swarming around in your stomach. “I didn’t get much sleep last night because I had to take care of my little siblings.” He paused for a second, as he rested his head on the desk looking downright exhausted. “Don’t tell the boys this. But my dad left my mom and us for good. So I’m helping around the house as the oldest brother.. but it’s getting harder to keep up.” He struggled to find the right words and he felt his voice crack but he tried suppressing it. Your expression softened and you gently patted his back.
“It’s okay, you don’t need to be strong all the time. Everyone needs a well deserved break some days.”
Hoseok nodded at your words, melting into your motherly and tender touch. Just your hand on his back had him screaming internally for more.
“Do you want to get milkshakes with me later this afternoon? I can pick you up.” Hoseok sat upright after a few minutes and looked over at you focused on your schoolwork. You were surprised he wanted to spend more time with you but you really didn’t mind. Hoseok was a sweet guy. “Oh! Not like a date or anything just like us hanging out and..” His sentence trailed off and he had a frantic look in his eyes. It was a look you’d never expect on a confident and outgoing guy like him.
"Hoseok. I'd like that a lot." You couldn't help but smile at how sincere the look of relief on Hoseok's face was when you accepted his offer.
“Do you think Hoseok has a crush on Y/N?” Jungkook spoke lowly, as he cleaned a tool and handed it to Taehyung. Taehyung laid down on a small wooden skateboard and slid back under the car. “Well if you’re asking me. I think he does.” Jimin spoke up, after washing up Hoseok’s red car in the workshops garage. “He just seems awfully jealous of Jin and I think they need to work it out or somethin.” Taehyung yelled under the car, sounding slightly muffled as he continued to work.
"Huh, is that so?" Hoseok entered the garage with a cigarette between his lips.
The three boys went silent and Jimin laughed nervously, hiding behind a shelf. "Speaking of Y/N, I'm taking the broad out so you better beat it and have my car finished real soon." Hoseok hollered over the radio that played music and clapped his hands, ushering for the boys to hurry up.
“Just don’t let Jin find out.” Jungkook gawked.
“He won’t if you don’t tell him.”
