Artemisia Gentileschi

Artemisia Gentileschi should be taught and spoken of in the same awe and admiration as the other greats like Michelangelo and Botticelli. Her life was brave and equally tragic. This is reflected in her beautiful art pieces. But many have never heard of her. Wikipedia her!

At the library of the Opera House, browsing a book on Edvard Munch’s paintings or sketches, I felt truly dazzled by this one.  Solely by staring “ Madonna in the church”,  I can feel my deepest melancholia strings are being pulled. To me, this could be the grand grand father of Tim Burton’s work. I’m going back for more information digging on it, but simply examining it at the present, captures my interest.
