A montage of all the drinks I drank watching the 2026 World Baseball Classic games
------- I got really excited for the WBC. Italy beating America? And like half of them living in MY area?!? From here on out, I did not cheap out on the refreshments.
Italy vs. USA was ICONIC. so Missing Italy vs. Mexico hurt my soul. But I wasn't missing the rest of Italy's games, and I was inspired by the expresso shot deal. So, we made italian-styled coffee for all the Italy matches. Viva la New York!

We had extremely strong sambuca with expresso. this was quite good! I really dont want to to doxx myself but my local italian-specialty cafe? Cafe G______? i love you i cant fucking believe how strong you made that expresso. Holy shit the quality was unrealllllllll
And deadly. Baseball games are long. I should not have drank 4 of these from midnight till 3am.
I laid awake all night, shaking and suffering of muscle spasms so badly I cried and nearly went to the hospital. So we swore off caffeine and alcohol for the rest of the tournament. It was good, but also caused stress and pain. DRINK RESPONSIBLY!!!!
The Dominican Republic vs. USA
Our nerves were still coursing with caffeine electricity, so we went with trying a Maroccino with decaf regular coffee. We made sure to make the coffee super strong, because usually, this is an expresso drink. But we had the heavy cream and the good cacao chocolate powder, and with a splash of sugar, it was divine, and didnt kill us. Why did we drink this for this non-italian game? Because my white family has never used heavy cream before and we used this as a trial run. We had to refine our recipe. We also had them the night after for the Italy vs. Venezuela game.

sadly, no images for this night. We had the above coffee (its GREAT) but we also made affogato coffee! Which is basically strong coffee with vanilla ice cream in a cup. Super easy, it just melts super quick, hence no pictures. You can use gelato and/or add liquor, too. Phenomenal treat. You have the option to scoop the ice cream quick, or let the ice cream melt - the melted ice cream is a WONDERFUL creamer, actually! sweet and super blended with the coffee taste!
I needed a treat that night. Italy's bats weren't enough. But, hey, Venezuela's still lit!
so, no more New York representation. However, while coffee would have felt wrong, I did find a compromise. We ate chips and salsa alongside this beverage, and only true New Yorkers will recognize it despite the awful image quality:
Stewartssssssss! Stewart's, upstate New Yorks most important gas station, and ice cream shop. But their sodas are awesome too! Yeah no more New Yorkers, or Italians, but you can rip the Stewarts Root Beer out of my cold upstate-NY-during-winter hands. Slaps nearly as hard as Suarez's bat in the 9th inning. I frank this all the way to glorious victory.
