do you have any deadlines for finishing this lyricstuck? it's been almost six days since you posted the message about 2 remaining panels. i, and i think the other artists too, want to see the results of our efforts...

Technically there isn't a deadline after we get the pinch-hitters in, but it is taking a while.  I think one of the panels didn't actually have a pinch-hitter so I might take that over tonight.  Sorry for the wait, everyone!  I'll do my best to bring it out by the weekend but there are some variables I can't control!

Home Stretch!

K, grace period has now passed, and Toasty and I have pretty much finished uploading all the panels that have been sent to us.

That said, we are still not quite finished. There are about 7 panels left open for grabs for people who've missed out on volunteering. If you have worked on a previous lyricstuck for us, you can jump in on this one too.

If you are interested in helping out and have gotten an ok from either one of the mods, make sure to check out the Artist Info for details on your panel. 

Note: we need people who can get panels done PRONTO. Every one of us who contributed would like to see this baby out to the world as soon as possible. c:

As for the unfinished sketches, new volunteering artists should keep the general idea stated in the Song Map, but should also feel free to change the panel if they think they have a better idea for it. But it'd be nice if the original idea was respected.

GBL Artist Spreadsheet

It's the final week so the mods have been doing a little of of scrambling getting everything as soon as we get them--posting the panels and giving feedback and sending thank you notes :)

There have been a few changes happening--some of ya'll changed your usernames, artists have been swapped...so our Artist Credits page needs updating.

So if you are a replacement artist, or someone who has changed their url recently, please make sure your name is in the right panel number in this spreadsheet. Thanks so much! We're looking forward to posting this lyricstuck--everyone's panel is flowing great! :D

Hey! You said "final lyricstuck" in your previous ask. Does that mean you guys aren't planning anymore after homestuck ends?

Well, I can't say for certain but that was my initial plan.  I only really wanted to make one big lyricstuck in the first place, but then the Gigapause just kept going so I thought we might as well get some practice in with three or so in between.  I can't say there won't me more after the post-Homestuck one (or more in-between!) but I don't think I can continue indefinitely.

Thing is, long-term massive collaborative projects have never exactly been my specialty so managing five lyricstucks is fairly remarkable for me. XD If someone else wants to take over the blog after I feel finished, I could think it over but in the end they'd probably be better off making their own lyricstuck collab blog?  Unless they were really attached to the way we've been doing things here.

What are the next few lyricstucks you plan on opening up? do you have posts for them?

The only one I have planned after this is Wake Me Up, which is quite short.  (Recall that changes may be made to the song map before we use it--I wrote it all out quite a while ago so there's room for improvement).

After that, I had intended to make a final lyricstuck for the end of Homestuck, but since that requires Homestuck to be over, there may be more in the interim.  I have a couple of ideas of my own but most of them require more of a unified narrative than what we’ve done so far, and I’m not sure they would be suited to the multiple-artist format.

So I don't quite understand how the palletes work? Are they the backgrounds or...?

They are mostly backgrounds, sometimes with other basic colors included as blocks in a way that sort of vaguely imitates the sketch composition the artist gave us.  I realize we're switching it up again since last time, but please do your best and they might work out for you!  Ask us more questions if you have them and we'll try and help you out.

Palettes!

We looked at everyone's sketches while trying to make it as general as possible (so you have a lot of more creative space in your coloring!), but still keeping the overall flow of the colors throughout. Toasty and I are in the process of polishing the other panels to fit those two categories, so we'll update this as we go.

We'll add the rest under a readmore, so you can see the whole color scheme in the lyricstuck format. If you have any questions, send us a note.  If you are a GBL artist, please send us a note off-anon so we can talk address your panel specifically (anons are always public and we don't want to publish details on your panel) :)

What time are the mods usually on Skype? Because I think Toasty wanted to talk to me about my sketches but I keep missing them whenever they're online.

I’m on around afternoon mountain time on weekdays and on the computer for almost the whole day on weekends. I’ll make sure to have Skype open on a daily basis from now on

Toastyhat is on the computer most of the time, it’s just a matter of her staying in the chat long enough to contact anyone.
