Greatest Friend

O friend, you were there in the beginning

You carried me through even when I was begging

You appeared in a surprising manner

I gladly took you in and held you as my banner

Of goodness and delight

You were winning me and I couldn’t fight

Your face extremely luminous, eyes couldn’t cease, but stare

Your heart exceedingly beauteous, mine couldn’t bear

To fall in and enjoy

To fall in and let you be my joy

O how your presence,

Is like non-historical existence

You don’t judge

You hold no grudge

You don’t condemn

You don’t think I am dumb

You think I’m a gem

And not a broken stem

You forgive and forget

You don’t remind me of my shame

Matter of fact, You’ll take the blame

You accept me just as I am

You don’t criticize me for your own self-esteem

You are humble, you don’t claim you’re superman like Cam

You don’t push away all of my dreams

Matter of fact, you push and urge for me to succeed

And this was even when my heart wasn’t cleaned

My greatest friend, my loyal companion, you don’t favor me more when I please you

Nor do you favor me less, when I fail and disappoint you

O your companionship is ever-present

Your friendship is ever-constant

My falls, my mistakes were unconstitutional

But your love is so unconditional

What kind of person has a friend like you?

You’re the greatest of all friends

O I turned my back on you so many times

You saw all of my trespasses

You saw all of my crimes

You looked over all my transgressions

You endured all my digressions

All of my sins,

All of my failures,

All of my hatred,

All of my disobedience,

You’ve seen them all

However, you accept me as your best friend

You descended for me, now you ascend

Forgive me friend I do not mean to offend

I know your love is genuine, you never pretend

O respected fellow sojourner, you know this soul isn’t the prettiest

Ironically, I am counted as priceless by the mightiest

O I’ve heard them say, a friend like you never forsakes, never leaves

And I believe it

Even when I break your heart you call me back

I can’t resist it

You walk with me even through my toughest track

Sadly, there are times when I reject you

And don’t take time to sit down with you,

To sit down and converse with you

To sit down and admire what you do

O when I heard your great act of true love,

It broke my heart and caused me to fall in love

You were revered in the palace and secured,

But you gave it all up

Merely to show the magnitude of your love

You were beaten all up

Countless marks could be seen all over your skin

Into your body, nails were cruelly hammered in

Your feet and hands were painfully nailed

A hand went to my head and hat was to be carefully vailed

Your heart fractured apart like broken glass

Nerves tore apart like an old rubber band

And blood burst open like a river in a great mass

The pain was great, but you said the cause was greater

A sacrifice like yours? no one will discover

But the thing is you’d probably do it again,

For my soul to gain

O how blood was streaming down your head

Tears were flowing down my face

How could I explain your grace?

Your grace, reaches to the deepest place

This is my home

O what can I do for such a great friend?

You saved my life

What can a good friend do, but follow your example

My friend is so beautiful, smart, pretty, supportive, talented, small, strong, sarcastic, amazing, lazy, sarcastically, assertive, straight up, funny, loud, and there's so many other things but overall she's so fucking amazing. Like wow, how'd I get so lucky to have met her? And she can be so sweet too. Like she helped me get over one of my biggest fears and we just have so much fun together. She's so awesome and I'm just awestruck sometimes. Like how can someone like this exist and choose to actively be a part of my life? Like holy fuck boy am I lucky. I just love her so much and I'm so thankful for everything she's done for me and everything else like just existing. It's all thanks to my other super cool best friend, who I miss dearly. If it wasn't for her, we all wouldn't have met. They're like the two most awesome people who always make me feel included and better. They accept me for who I am even when I don't. And I'm just so fucking lucky and grateful.

Since I gave you my phone number you have never failed to know exactly when I need an uplifting text. 

I seriously don't even have to say anything and you just know that I need someone to say something funny or nice or inspirational. 

You're one of that greatest people I've ever had the pleasure of talking to and I'm so glad that we're friends. 

Thanks so much for all the times you've ever helped me and for all the times in the future that I can already predict you're going to help me, because the lord knows I'll need it.
