it had been a quick trip to the stream and back, just needing to replenish the seaweed that she used to keep most of the injuries back at camp clean. she hadn't planned on any stops. didn't want to get lost, or give anyone reason to come looking for her. but... well. she'd heard the cry. the soft snuffles of warning before a single loud wail had startled a few birds nearby. it had taken a long moment before she had decided what to do, finally giving in to her inner need to take care of everyone. it had been a bit harder to find the child, once they had stopped crying, but eventually.. the little girl was shivering at the base of a tree, wide eyes looking around as if she as lost. clarke knew she couldn't be older than four, at best five. and she seemed... petrified. dirty. and hungry, if the way she took the berries clarke offered was any indication to go by. the older girl knew that it was going to get dark soon, that they really needed to head back to camp and regroup to figure out what to do, but... madi ( it had taken far more effort than she'd like to admit to get the name from the child ) had been adamant on not leaving. that it wasn't safe. they were coming. so clarke had settled in, given her jacket to the little girl and what little bit of meat strips in her bag, and hoped that someone would come looking for her. what she hadn't expected was for it to be murphy to come looking for her, bright blue eyes blinking up at him. "now --- before you start yelling, i was on my way back.."
