So I was scrolling and I realised something

I haven’t seen anything about Greece in a while. In America, we usually have our eyes and ears focused on us and I follow a lot of blogs that are ran by people here in the states. So I looked Greece up. As I thought, they’re still on fire. And no one is talking about it.

To my knowledge, Greece isn’t the most financially stable country. I’m not going to get into the traumatizing stories I read, but I will share where you can send money to help. I’m keeping this post short so it will hopefully be shared; the links will be under the cut. Or what I hope is a cut. I’ve never used one before.

Keep in mind, gofundme charges a 2.9% processing fee with $0.30 fee for every donation. That’s roughly €0.26 or £0.24 on top of the processing fee that grows in amount with the fund. I personally do not like gofundme accounts, but majority of your money will go to help and if that link is easier, by all means, please use it.

(And before anon’s get mad, yes, I know California is on fire. Instead of complaining to me, get Trump to talk about it. He’ll likely say something offensive and then everyone will donate in spite of him. I’ve given money to both causes even though I’m $11k in debt. Don’t be self-centered because I’m trying to help others.)

Let me tell y’all a story

 My newfound sibling, Aspen, used to be my childhood friend. Aspen’s family was my families’ neighbors back in Finland, and then my family moved to America and theirs's moved to Greece. Aspen lived in Greece for quite some time, and then all of the huge fires began. Aspen and their youngest sister, Rae, were the only two able to escape the building, unknowing to one another. They got on two separate boats and the only way I could contact Aspen was through Discord. They both were sent to Finland to stay with my remaining relatives while plans were set out to send Aspen to live with us. Aspen was sent here, and they now live with my mother, father, and I. Rae never left Finland, she sadly passed due to the large amount of smoke basically slowly killing her lungs. Aspen suffers from many minor burn scars along their back and lower legs, as well as one major burn across their hips and spine.

 Aspen is in artist who has drawn many incredibly realistic works, we bought them a laptop and a drawing pad and they are waaaay more talented than me. They won’t be starting school until next year, though, so I am trying to teach them as much English as possible. They are fluent in Finnish, Greek, French, and speak sign language.

 I have no real reason to share this with you except for this: You should never be afraid to help your loved ones, even the long and the lost.

I honestly understand people being pissed about social media not really showing what's going on in Greece, since so many people were burning alive. Because when there are fires in Italy, I am pissed too. This whole thing about Demi Lovato overdosing, and people saying stuff like "who cares about a damn celebrity overdosing", I. Get. It. But. Do not let your anger make you forget that some people are struggling, and just because someone is a celebrity, it doesn't make them less prone to have mental illnesses. That being said, obviously in the big scheme of things, an entire country burning down is a bigger thing than a single person overdosing.

If anyone wishes some photos from the tragedy, here there are some taken by citizens. Beware, some are cruel, with animals injured (hence why I’m not posting them & letting you choose to see them).
