Recovery is transition which can feel very uncomfortable. We are socially conditioned to feel like we need to always have a bold and static identity, so this period where we are adults but don't really know who we are is really hard. It makes it difficult to connect with others and feel like you belong. During this time, be very gentle and patient with yourself. You are building yourself from scratch. It takes time. People with healthy, loving parents have been doing it since they were born. You only got the chance to start 15, 30, 45 years in. Whenever you realized you were abused and began recovery. For me that was 33 years in. At 33 I knew who I was and then bam, I was no one and nothing. It was hard. It was scary. I was full of rage and despair and there was nothing to hold onto. I felt that life was totally out of control. This is all normal. I'll say it again.
THIS IS NORMAL.
I'll also say this: building yourself from scratch as an adult is not easy. But it is possible and here's a silver lining. The things you need to forge yourself from within a white hot fire with the awareness of a mature human: strength, tenacity, creativity, endurance, intelligence, impenetrable will, immortal joy and love, those are the parts of you that got you through the abuse. They are things you have in abundance and your survival is the evidence of that. You can refer to that evidence any time you doubt yourself.
YOU GOT THIS. đź’™
don’t let tumblr make you believe that
-smoking is cool
-being a narcissistic bitch is acceptable
-trusting nobody is healthy
-starving yourself will make you beautiful
-hating everybody is okay
- that working hard for grades isn’t worth the time
- that having mental health condition is a perk
- that self harm should be romanticized
- that abusive and codependent relationships are cute
- that not being in a minority makes you any less of a person
Who glorifies this shit? Who?
why do my followers keep on growing, i literally have been gone for months lolk?
Klaus: it costs a lot of money to go see a therapist but it’s absolutely free to say it really be like that some times
Ben: klaus,,,, buddy,
oof
Somehow this seems to be an unpopular opinion but klaus isn’t an idiot. I’m tired of people portraying klaus as some infant dumbass who needs everyone else to take care of him. He lived on the streets alone for years, he stayed in the house being educated longer than some of the others. He has plenty of book and street smarts. He may be chaotic and silly at times but don’t confuse that with being stupid.

They’re both such good dogs I don’t even know where to start.
