Sigh. Here we go again.

For much-needed context, Pablo is a name we’ve assigned Robin Hood’s bird. The first instance of Pablo appeared when someone (not me) was very tired and started writing from the bird’s POV in free verse. So now I’m going to write about Robin from the bird’s POV in iambic pentameter. 

Robin Hood As Described By His Bird At 3:30AM: A Soliloquy(???)

A treetop beckons. Rigid bark awaits, a foothold carved in wood to ease the climb. No matter all our lives, I’ll watch you still. How many times have we been summoned, friend? I know your actions’ course before you do-- the aroma of danger calls you yet, its odor drives you away from the fray.

I do believe I have told you before, the way you gaze upon women mimics another man to royalty or God. You’ve wrapped yourself in fairy-tales so long, Mother Nature is the fondest caress you’ll get any time soon. That said, my friend, you hide behind your hood before sunrise. No lady can see your face if it’s blank, nor read your expressions should you forget that damned thing covers your best and your worst. Believe your best is better than you are. You’ve been known to do great things when needed.

If you took my penny for your thoughts I would find myself sorely disappointed. Heavens know you don’t have those--the pennies or the thoughts. Truly what goes on in that head of yours I have not already heard? Perhaps you’re even dumber than you look, thinking I don’t hear because I’m a bird.

@atroposisms‘s interest in my ridiculous crossbow play idea inspired me to finally share this monstrosity I wrote on April Fool’s Day. (Their interpretation is way sweeter and I strongly recommend it.)

I didn’t write it as a joke, but it sure feels like a joke. Is a reference to my very first Robin Hood General + NSFW HCs. I’m not an erotica writer, but someone(s) asked what crossbow play would be like and I felt obligated to answer. And when they asked what it was like they all kept saying it was joke poking your partner with a crossbow. Like, literally poking them on the arm with it. Cursed.
