Hello, hi! Making this post because I still have a loooot of these buttons! They’re 37mm / 1.45 inches in size, I put the coin next to it for comparison.

Green Carnation - Love between Men Violet - Love between Women Iris - well, there’s no official flower for Love between Non-Binary People, but @lesbiansirius (thank you once more!!) came up with the Iris which is named after the greek goddess for the rainbow, the yellow ones meaning Passion, Hope, Courage… and it has such a nice shape imo!

so it’s pretty unlikely that I’ll be able to buy a ton of fresh green carnations to give away at the concert in october - that’s why i thought i’d give away buttons! (they’re longer lasting, anyway.) it’ll be green carnations and violets symbolozing mlm+wlw alliance - though i’d like to include non-binary people, too. maybe a yellow flower? any enbies got ideas? 🌻 my questions are.. how many do i make? at least enough for the 79 rainbow direction pals in cologne, right? i have some friends that could take some to other venues, too, what about that? would anyone not in cologne be interested?

... how do I - a pansexual woman in a same sex relationship - communicate my thoughts and opinions about why I believe the way you're phrasing things shouldn't be handled that way because long story short it supports homophobia, when I get your struggle and desire to have your idol represent you and said struggles, don't wanna hurt and offend you, and genuinely believe you don't mean no harm? (Serious question!)

(I’m the anon from last night) but he hasn’t ever specifically said he’s “Not Straight”, I believe he either doesn’t label himself or he’s pansexual but that doesn’t mean he is and therefore making those buttons about his sexuality is for example the same as telling a Bisexual person they’re not Bi - they’re Gay. It isn’t to taboo the topic of sexuality, it is because it shouldn’t be important at ALL. Of course we deserve to see ourselves in our idols, but that doesn’t give us the right to (1)Make his sexuality a thing because we think that his sexuality matches up to ours, it might not be and unless he specifically states he is whatever sexuality whether that’s Bi, Gay, Pan, Asexual or even Straight etc. I don’t think we need to make it a thing at all. We can talk about it in private, but don’t make it public. It’s almost like outing someone. Also he might not even know what the green carnation stands for? It was in reference to Mick Jagger, not Oscar Wilde. You’re wonderful (2) and I adore you and you’re kind and sweet and truly truly great but I feel like this is taking things too far :/ (3)

Thanks for being kind about this! and i think you’re communicating your thoughts in a very honest and helpful way rn, i’m not offended - and honestly, i try not to ever be if someone wants to tell me their opinion. so, yah sänk you 💖Imma try to sort out my thoughts, too, kay?i kinda feel like you’re treating heterosexuality as the default, as the ‘original’ setting until someone tells you otherwise? (though maybe i’m wrong, if so whopsala sorry) imo that’s a very harmful thing do to, bc it’s not only suggesting that everyone is straight until they’re suddenly not, it also makes coming outs  so much harder etc. it erases every other sexuality, ya know? He did say he isn’t straight when he said he doesn’t label his sexuality imo! it were shitty circumstances, but he said it. i guess if i’d try to pin down being ‘straight’ means having a defined hetero Sexuality. by defying the demand to label himself as straight, he’s not straight? i dunno, does that make sense? it’s not an eloquent sentence mmshhsfh . ‘no label’ is a sexuality - and it’s not the hetero norm -> not straight. (but this is a discussion i’m not really a pro in, bc i do not nearly know enough about lgbt history, labeling or all those studies)

and 'not that important’ or pinning a rainbow over his heart/exactly were the flower was pinned a day after snl? can i ask you how making those buttons is telling him he’s gay though? they’re not meant for him, i’m not sending them to him to pin one on his jacket hshssfhsfhfh only giving them away at concerts that have small venues anyway! people wouldn’t wear them to say HARRY STYLES IS GAY more as 'hello if you know what those flowers mean you probs know i’m not straight’ - again, the green carnation is more about 'love between men’ than 'gay love’, i might’ve misphrased something. also! i’m putting in those violets for love between gals and some flowers for love from and towarsd non-binary people, too! so it’s generally a button for lgbt pals, instead for gay men. it’s like bringing rainbows to the concerts!

what i meant with we’re not in a position to out him: apart from the obvious 'all 1d fans are percieved as girls whose opinions mean shit anyway’ and us not being taken seriously - fans interpreting things their idols do or say is literally the reason for fandom. it’s why fame works in the first place, i think? the power inbalance is so extreme, there’s no way a few fans can seriously harm him by saying he’s Not Straight - people who believe h&l are in a relationship even had moments in the spotlight, remember that shitstorm with tmz and freddie? if anything, that helped louis’ media representation.  'larry’ never harmed 1d - thousands of fans are here for them. they used it for pr. they used it to sell. if fans believing in anything does something to their careers it’s boosting it. 🏋️ (then again i’m absolutely not an expert in all this so maybe it’s just my false perception; I need to think about this some more) Edit: i thought about this throughout the day and had some convos with friends and i’ve been too fast to say fans aren’t able to harm famous people! they deffo can and have and we’ve seen it, i just kinda blanked, sorry! i still think this whole ‘‘’‘project’‘‘‘ is too small and un-noticeable and not outing H, though <3

I do think Sexuality is important. It’s hella fucking important. we’re defined by how we interact with others. women are defined by how devoting they are in relationships, men are defined by how dominant they are. sexuality influences the way people percieve and react to us, and that can shape our personality. sexuality influences our art, like every aspect in life does. A famous person being Not Straight (or Not Cis) influences their creations. it’s A Thing in oscar’s works and it’s A Thing in modern art 💌

Harry not knowing what the green carnation means? maybe. we know he’s very into literature though. (and for those who think he’s behind rbb he’s a master of lgbt history) his stylist put together clothings for an oscar wilde themed photshoot  so that dude Knows what’s up. and.. mick jagger wore the green carnation publically only once in his life - when he portrayed oscar in those awful trials. why put that flower on? when no one associates it with jagger? only with oscar and/or gay symbols? imo it was a beautiful sign for Not Straight People. and that’s what those buttons are supposed to be!aaaaahh bshdshsfh fuck this got long. again, thank you for sending me those messages, i appreciate you telling me your thoughts instead of doing this the Rude Tumblr Way  ❤ ❤ and i hope you get where i’m coming from? you can obviously still argue against my reasonings <3 <3 hope your day will be lovelyyyy 🌸🌸
