"I'm so glad you were able to come." Pepper greeted warmly, her kettle already nearing the perfect temperature in the kitchen. The decorations were out in tubs, waiting to be put up. Her tree stood barren, silently awaiting the return of its familiar ornamentation. It was time. Christmas was nearly upon them. But there was another reason Pepper had been so eager to have her festive friend over. A more... personal one. Her tattoos. Edgeworth. There was a lot she'd yet to tell Lucy about.
“I’m glad y’ invited me! I’m always ‘appy t’ ‘elp y’ decorate. An’ this ‘ll be great time t’ catch up!”

Pepper, intent on paying Clay a visit, entered the room, stopping in her tracks upon being greeted with his.... sister? Cousin? Pepper didn't know, but whoever she was, the agent felt extremely flustered. "U-uh... H-hello?"
“Hey Pep.” Clay called out as though nothing was different, “It’s not like you to visit me at work.” The astronaut replied as she’d grabbed a can of iced coffee.

(Frozen Veggies au) Cold. God Pepper was s-so very c-cold. She was…. freezing. She had been locked in there for hours. It must have been hours, but then again, Pepper had no way of telling time in the small, restaurant freezer. Honestly, she was surprised that the oxygen in the room had lasted as long as it had. She could feel her consciousness fading. It had been for a while. She looked up dimly at the bolted door, her battered body still bound a few feet away. She could hardly see it anymore.

Quiet footsteps could be heard from outside, progressively getting louder as muffled yells came from without. After a moment, a loud clang resinated against the door, then another, and suddenly the door swung open, revealing Edgeworth gripping his shoulder tightly, looking desperately into the room. “Pepper!” he gasped and ran toward her, “I-It’s me, it’s Miles! What happened?” He gently stroked her cheek to examine her face, before working on untying her.
