Also called Sclater’s araçari, this bird is found in the lowland forests of northeastern South America (the Guiana Shield), in the northeast Amazon Basin, the Guianas and the eastern Orinoco River drainage of Venezuela. source These are sexually dichromic birds, (they have different coloring). The male araçari’s neck and head feathers are very dark, whereas the female araçari has dark red to brown coloration. These birds have a brightly colored red, yellow and blue bill with a unique serrated edge.
