Leigh just sent me a link to an alumni's Flickr page and just look at these photos!

Okay, so in January 1989, the psychology department needed extra office space (isn't it always the case), and the university considered moving students out of the Hill and giving those buildings to the psych dept. However, the university was not expecting Collinsites to react so strongly to this proposal. Meetings, protests, presentations, folk songs, political cartoons, t-shirts, and editorials poured out of Collins, all in support of keeping the Hill. As evidenced by the fact that I have happily resided in Greene for two years now, those students were successful, and the university gave the psych department some space in Hillcrest.
Hard to believe that the door I use every day to enter and exit the building is the very same door that "Home Sweet Home" sign hung over, once upon a time. Mmmm, history.
Greene Hall: my favorite hidden place on campus
The library is a fine place to study, but there are some little-known gems on UWM's campus that make for a great study local. Greene Hall is a little-known jewel tucked between Johnston and Sabin Halls. With a fireplace, old wood floors and a high-vaulted ceiling, Greene Hall is what you imagined college to be when you were in high school, or maybe what Ivy campuses actually feel like.
