Daily Reflection #62 Picton Ferry

Positives: returning the rental car and seeing the seaport town of Picton because we had a few hours to kill before boarding a later ferry. We had time for a round of mini golf - guess who won…

Challenges: killing time before the ferry as the weather got very windy. The seas were very rough although our boat arrived early

Best Meal: a nice lunch at one of the cafes on the water. We got some more green-lipped mussels that we can’t get enough of and fish cakes

Fact of the Day: we took the Interislander Ferry back to Wellington. The ship that we were on, the Aratere, was literally cut in half in 2011. It was sent to Singapore where workers built an additional floor in between the pieces to make more room for the quantity of passengers.

Smiling Moments: reminiscing about our incredible adventures on the South Island and getting back to Wellington to see Jon and Anna
