But HE DIDNT fridge her! the original sherlock holmes SHE DIES IN CHILDBIRTH! (which was actually common back then). I think he did a justice in having her die - by sacrificing her own life for Sherlock - she was doing something noble. I also think her death is going to shape the relationship between Sherlock and John. John has lost so much over the years - but I don't think Sherlock EVER understood that - now he's experiencing it first hand.
I mean, we never know for sure what happens to her. Sure her disappearance from the stories just being explained by the phrase, “My sad bereavement” (and not even named) is worse than her getting the chance to have character development and agency. But still, Mofftiss should be able to handle Mary’s impact on John and Sherlock better than a Victorian writer.
And, that’s the definition of manpain.
