Lemme know if you want a brief tldr of all the dnd characters in any of the campaigns I’m in

I’ve given up on combat balancing in just going to give my players a ton of healing items and magic items and hope for the best they can take a lich at level 6.

I’m really excited about this idea and am trying to brainstorm ideas similar to it.

This up coming session of campaign is a month of downtime and as my players are going around the city doing whatever I’m gonna drop clues and tips in the background of certain event that are going to occur they they could investigate or completely ignore / miss it.

The one I’m proudest off rn is an underground art auction with ties to the thieves guild or possibly the wizard school instead. So if they players investigate it they can figure out when and where it’s taking place and the next session decide if they want to stick around the city and investigate it or move on to the next.

Trying to come up with other fun threads and stuff.

I … obtained… a copy of tomodachi life and started putting DnD characters into it from several campaigns.

Gonna yap about my campaign cause I can.

Was very open to my players a lot of my fixations went into the campaign which honestly makes it such a fun experience for everyone. We have npcs from dsmp and hermitcraft to bungo stray dogs.

Thing I’m proudest of however is my pantheon, based off of the entities from the Magnus archives.

So I’m in two active campaigns, one that hasn’t started yet and run my own campaign now for about four years now. I’ve dm’d before in highschool after my older brother got into DnD and asked me to. (He doesn’t play anymore but one of my players from that campaign is in my current one!)

Remy is in my mentioned friends homebrew campaign called The All City. It’s set in Faerun and my friend really liked the concept of a campaign set in a really large fuckin city lol.

We actually just got to the city in the last session lmao. But Remy is a Fire Genasi Monk way of the Ascendant Dragon.

Remy was originally a way of the drunken monk character I would use for silly oneshot but I decided I wanted to play him serious-ish. My dm actually suggested the dragon subclass since the drunken monk isn’t really that special and that entirely changed Remy’s story.

Backstory below it’s a mouthful.

He’s from a noble-ish Genasi household that basically runs a giant forge and holds traditions pretty strictly. (Think of the Zenin clan from JJK. If you don’t have power ur useless. If ur a woman… well.)

Guess what! Remy’s trans lol. Grew up being trained to be the heiress and then his parents had a son and 180’d and started sending him to like lady in training classes and what not.

His uncle was chill tho he like didn’t know Remy was trans but knew something was up. He runs a temple of Bahamut and would train Remy when he would sneak off there.

16th birthday arrived, Remy gets tired of being ridiculed by his family and comes out and gets mocked some more and Remy declares that he will return one day and show them what a true leader is.

Well, couple of months homeless, broke and on the road he was pretty quick to give up. He felt useless and depressed and turned to alcohol and basically drank the years away.

Now, he’s heading to the city (four years later) under the guise of trying new drinks. But so far on the way there he met a tiefling bard of noble status named Rigel. (Remy hates him. Because Rigel reminds Remy of himself. They will become best friends one day.) and a Eladrin Spring Elf named Doto who’s an echo knight. He’s broody, quiet and shady as fuck and Remy totally thinks he’s hot but is more curious about why he’s got connections with the Zentrium.

His new goal in the city is to reconnect with his monk roots and find a temple of bahamut.

Have a new PC joining the campaign and idk why but something with the backstory feels messy to me like cluttered and not smooth.

Gonna just really break it down in bullet points and see why I’m tweaking

(In no ways is this about my friends writing btw this is purely about MY dm writing.) (I love my friends and I am very grateful they are trusting me with their OC’s in my fanfiction game.)

Next session of my campaign is a downtime session that I’m honestly pretty excited for. They have two months of free time, one a boat back to town and one in the town and I get to drop a lot of plot points for them to chase🙂‍↕️
