“IT NEVER RAINS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA”
one year ago; on january 7, 2017, the bakersfield condors held the condorstown outdoor classic for the ninth outdoor game in ahl history. the game began in a light drizzle before puck drop, but by the start of the second period a steady rain had begun to fall. trailing the ontario reign 2-0 at the start of the third, the condors scored twice to force overtime. in the end, the condors outlasted the ontario reign 3-2 (OT) thanks to a griffin reinhart goal 46 seconds into overtime to end a memorable night at memorial stadium.
“It was something else, like nothing I’ve ever experienced….for it to rain like that. It was tough to go through, but it was nice to get a win despite the odds.”
— Goaltender, Laurent Brossoit [x]
