Iced Coffee at Gregories Coffee
I was very skeptical of gregory's coffee. They seemed like they jumped on the banwagon of third wave coffee wuthout understanding it. BUT, I was presently surprised. the coffee was nice and slightly bright. They seemed to be preparing for a retail focused store (grinders, brew machines etc) upstairs.
Croissant Donut aka The CRONUT!!!!!
I have been going to Gregorys Coffee almost every weekday since the first day I started working in NYC and am absolutely obsessed. They bake their own baked goods fresh daily unlike other coffee chains that order them from third parties. I usually just get a coffee but last week I got a glazed donut and the donut was so good. The glaze had a hint of coconut in it but didn't have coconut flakes which was perfect. When I got the glazed donut I noticed that they had something called a croissant donut that looked identical to the cronut but decided not to get it. Yesterday I went to Gregory's for my daily coffee fix and saw the croissant donut again so I decided to get it. It was the cronut and I didn't have to wait in a line around the block or travel to the Lower Eastside or wherever the original cronut makers location is. The cronut from Gregorys is the most incredible donut I have ever tasted, it is flaky and sweet and has a custard in the flaky folds.
