Quick heads up: I started watching Hermitcraft at Season 8 and I haven't been paying much attention to season 10 currently, so sorry if the hybrid headcanons and hermits don't line up with the seasons

Getting on land when you're part fish hybrid can sometimes be a task and a half. Wet rocks and wet webbed feet are a no-go half the time; climbing onto shore often comes with sand clinging onto you (especially during rough weather) and strong river currents can be too dangerous - Grian can't count the amount of bruises from crashing into the riverbed he's gotten

Of course he's learnt other ways to come ashore, but there is one that's way too fun to pass up on: wels fishing him up.

They first tried it when Grian got curious if he could (I mean, Eagles fish all the time) and perfecting it became a bonding experience for them.

Wels had his own apprehensions at first. He's always down for stupid things, but causing somebody else harm is a concern. Grian knows Wels can't really do anything that'll be worse than what Grian's done already in his misadventures!

Then they discover that he looks really really cool whilst doing it, so why stop? Once they've perfected it, Grian could call himself a flying fish! He might even be able to do a flip!

He wears Wels' helmet as protection, though. Plus it makes him look cute (and seeing Wels without a helmet is always good.)
