Writing Tip #2
Day 5 of sending posts into the endless void of the Internet, let’s gooo!✨
Today’s tip:
“If your characters are emotionally stable, you’re doing it wrong.”
What I’ve discovered while writing is: no one wants to read about a flawless, always-successful, emotionally bulletproof character. Like... okay, good for them—but where’s the drama?? The chaos?? The breakdown in chapter 12??
This doesn’t mean your characters can’t be skilled, smart, or powerful—just give them flaws. Give them obstacles. Let them mess up. Let them spiral a little. That’s what makes them feel real.
Let your readers say,
“Oh no, I relate to them. I am also a disaster with good intentions.”
Because at the end of the day, the most memorable characters are the ones who feel like people—messy, complicated, emotionally unstable people. 💜
