The heroes face down the final battle in A Menaced Kingdom, Quest 2 of Sword & Sorcery. One of the things I kinda liked about Galaxy Defenders was that the bad guys were super-dangerous; you had to be really careful. The Sword & Sorcery baddies have not yet been all that scary. A caveat though, we're using some of the Kickstarter heroes: our party is the Knight, Berserker, Elf, and Necromancer - so we have two tanks, both of whom seem fairly adept at ripping through the early monsters without too much risk (the Elf got caught out once ahead of the rest of the group though and got hit hard - the Rogue can scout; the Elf is pretty fragile and wants to keep his distance). If you play with just the heroes in the standard box, there is only one heavy fighter). Anyway, hopefully the later quests will up the difficulty a little bit. We've been playing 4p and so far the quests have run about 3 hours; it would be nice if it were a little shorter, but it's fine. It's a fairly complicated game, so I think once everyone has the hang of the various rules and options it'll pick up a bit - just glancing at the quests, it doesn't seem like there are any monster scenarios like there were for Galaxy Defenders, most are pretty compact. Definitely enjoying still and looking forward to pressing on to some of the more interesting baddies! #bgg #boardgamegeek #boardgames #aresgames #swordandsorcery #gremlinproject
