I have weirdly mixed feelings on the preponderance of sub!MC stories. On one hand, I’m pretty submissive, so I like that I get a lot of stuff that fits my taste. On the other hand, I’m very much not into pain play or degradation, which it feels like 90% of the sub!MC stuff has as a big part of it. Honestly, I end up reading a lot more dom!MC stuff just because it tends to have more stuff I like in it! (And I tend to find that dom stuff also has more character interpretations that I like, so…)

I'd probably have less issue with untagged sub!reader (though it should still be tagged imo) if I found myself accidentally reading like... soft dom Asmo, or Satan spoiling his pet reader, or mommy dom gentle and praise-giving Lucifer.
Most of what I find though has aspects of humiliation, pain play, degradation, reader being manhandled suddenly and roughly, or breath play. I've also seen a few fics that were not tagged that I would... definitely consider dubious consent at least. That or reader is Ana from fifty shades of grey levels of oblivious about sex which... do not relate lmao.
Of course, not all dom reader content is to my tastes either - despite the abundance of excellent piss kink writers in this fandom, I remain on the very edges of the kink. There's also quite a few talented amab reader writers out there which isn't my preference (not that I begrudge the amab readers their content, god knows they're starved enough for it in this fandom).
Everyone has their own tastes and everyone wants content that suits that. Unfortunately, the only way to guarantee you'll get that is to write it yourself (or trick your friends into writing it for you by getting them invested in an idea).
