I found it interesting as to why John Gilbert burning down the Gilbert Clinic instead of just controlling the fire to just destroy the dead vampire bodies, that was until later into the show when we found out that Grayson Gilbert used his clinics basement to torture and experiment on vampires.
Meaning that there were probably still some files and notes in the basement. So in order to rid of any evidence that Grayson Gilbert, may have left John decided to just burn the whole thing down instead of just moving any files to a different location.
Also on another note if Pearl was successful in getting back her property, and she looked around in the basement, she would have found out what the decedents of the man she loved did to her kind. Which would then cause bigger problems with the tomb vampires if Pearl shared what she found with them.
