I think the thing about the Flaxan arc is like. It's the first time Amanda and Robot are in it together on a level playing field. But even in a thousand years they don't break from their habits (because they have to hold onto something from the old world. Because if they let this completely change them what does that mean). And those habits are that Amanda will get her hands dirty and Robot won't. Those habits are that Amanda will reach out to people and Robot won't. Those habits are that Amanda will change her mind and Robot won't.
Robot's dictator arc(s) is so fascinating to me because it's like. It's not about ego. It's not about him deciding he's better than anyone. It's just that he is quite literally the smartest man alive and he can see the way things could be done better and he just. Does them!
And so it's like. Can Amanda truly hate him for that? She can hate him for how he went about it. She can hate him for the damage. She can hate him for lying to her. But can she really hate him for improving the lives of the planet? Can she really hate him for doing not only what he thought was for the best but for what genuinely was? She should and she wants to but can she?
